On Sunday, Statesboro Police Department officers responded to the Emergency Room of East Georgia Regional Medical Center in reference to a reported child molestation.
Upon arrival, the responding officer spoke with the mother of the six-year-old female victim and was told of the alleged incident. Detective Keith Holloway was notified and responded to the emergency room to begin an investigation.
According to the mother the alleged offender was a family member. After further investigation, Detective Holloway identified the alleged offender as Anthony Labron Hurst, a 25-year old black male from Sylvania, Georgia. After conducting interviews of witnesses, arrest warrants were issued for Hurst charging him with aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Hurst was arrested on these warrants Monday by the Screven County Sheriffs Department. SPD officers responded to Screven County and transported Hurst to the Bulloch County Jail where he is being held without bond, pending further court action.
