Two people were arrested following Operation Southern Eagle, a sex offender compliance check recently held in Bulloch County. The check involved 71 convicted sex offenders registered in the county.

A total of 28 agencies were involved in the check.  Among them the U. S. Marshalls Office, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Statesboro Probation, Georgia State Parole, Department of Corrections, FBI and others.

Senior inspector with the Southern District Sex Offender Investigation’s office, U. S. Marshal Scottie Daniel, said last week’s check verified the locations and compliance of the sex offenders.  He complimented local, state and federal agencies in their cooperation and said many more such compliance checks will be conducted in the future to protect the community and especially the children of the community.
