The Rundown - Independence Day Edition

The top 5 things to do on Independence Day are as follows:

#5 - Stay Home

Yes, it seems like a boring way to spend your Independence Day, but you could really save yourself the hassle by making an event out of your 4th of July at home. Break out the grill and invite some friends over to spend it with and you'll create your own Independence Day holiday. There is no traffic to worry about and you can be sure to catch some great program on the television later that night. The only negative is that the cleaning afterwards would be extensive, but you can make sure everyone does their part and make it a good day.

#4 - Go Bowling

Spend your summer punishing the pins! Head out to The Clubhouse with the family and get into some bowling, arcade games, mini golf, and laser tag. There's fun for the whole family and the best part is it's all on the inside out of the scorching heat. The Clubhouse could occupy you for the whole day and you could split the crew in half and make a competition out of it.

#3 - Do Some Research

So often we spend time celebrating holidays and not really understanding what they are all about. Make this the year to attack Independence Day from the learning angle. Spend your Fourth of July researching the significance of the date. You could find some really riveting stories about the history of our nation.

#2 - Splash in the Boro

This is inexpensive fun at it's greatest! The best way to truly combat the heat is by taking advantage of the water facilities provided by Splash in the Boro. The water slides, great pools, food and fun will keep your family fully occupied and make quite a memory for your holiday.

#1 - Firecracker Fest 2012

This is an all-in-one festival celebrating Independence Day with music, food, and fireworks. Go out with the family and have fun with live performances and games including a baseball/softball skills contest, a frog jump, and a Subway sub-eating contest.
No matter what you choose to do, play into your strengths. If you are one to host an awesome party with friends, go ahead and do it. If you like to attend the great events, do that. It's ultimately about tailoring your events and your activities to your lifestyles and enjoyments. As long as you do that, you are beating the holiday game!
